Great Dane Adoption Society

Special Dogs looking for a home

The dogs on this page are only a few of the approx. 30 dogs we have in care at any time. In addition to the "Special Needs Dogs" shown on this page, we have many other less demanding dogs waiting for homes. We do not maintain a public list of the dogs in care as it changes daily.

All of our dogs are properly assessed and all of our potential homes are checked for suitability. In addition the dogs are all vaccinated and wormed, and all the bitches are neutered prior to adoption. Our Dog Adoption Unit works very hard to ensure that the right dog is put into the right home by marrying the needs of the dog and the needs of the new home.

Leo

Click here to see a bigger picture of LeoHi I am Leo, a Dane x Mastiff and about 4 yrs old.

I am very nice natured and like cuddles and fuss. I am house trained and would be fine with older children.

I am used to being an only dog and I am fine with dogs that I meet when I am playing outside.

My Dad had to give me up when he lost his home and we were both very sad.

If you think you can give me a forever home please  apply online today

Love Leo xxx

Roberta

Hi I am Roberta ( Berty for short)

I am obviously not a Great Dane, although I wouldn’t mind being one when I grow up. I am actually an Anatolian Karabash !  I know it sounds Posh doesn’t it !

Click here to see a bigger picture of RobertaLike poor Sparkle I was a stray in London and went to the nice people at Battersea Dogs Home. Of course the girls down there phones GDAS and Aunty Joy and Uncle Kevin went to collect me.

I am very young and friendly with everybody that I know. I am frightened of new people and new dogs at first but only for a few minutes until I know that they are not going to hurt me. So teenagers and adults would be best.

Hobbies include chasing anything small and furry. I live with the Boy Danes here and love to play with them and love toys – most of all my ball which I will fetch all day long for you.

I am good on and off lead and have had all my medical bits seen to.

I am very beautiful – though I say it myself and am hoping to find a family who will be very kind and patient with me. If that's you please  apply online today.

Love and kisses Roberta xxx

Boo

Click here to see a bigger picture of BooHello my name is Boo. I am 2 years old and I am a Dane X Wolfhound.

I am the size and shape of a Dane bitch but has the beautiful whiskers of a Wolf, so what more could anyone want?

Like many of my friends my family moved into rented accommodation which does not allow dogs. Really what is it with these Landlords !

Anyway I find myself here looking for a new family to love and take care for me.

I am not too keen on small dogs but would live with a big male dog, or as an only pet. The Wolfhound in me is keen to chase small furry things so cats are not a good idea.

Like all GDAS bitches I am spayed, vaccinated, wormed and chipped.

I do need a family that are experienced with big dogs, and willing to do training and socialising with me.

If you think you can give me a forever home please  apply online today.

Thank you for reading about me love Boo xxx

Ant & Dec

Hello my name is Dec, my brother Ant and I are looking for loving new homes.

Click here to see a bigger picture of Ant & DecWe came from a breeder who was unable to sell us. Just not the demand for us little terrors I guess. We are Border Terriers, and 7-8 months old.

We need to be homed separately as the brotherly love is starting to fade.

I am slightly bigger than Ant and more head strong if I am honest. Ant is a bit shy and I am more outward going.

We are learning to walk on a collar and lead now for the first time. It’s getting a bit easier each day.

We both need to learn to live in a human household, and would live with a good natured girl dog or as an only pet, but due to our puppyish behaviour we do need a family who have plenty of time to spend with us. If that's you please  apply online today.

Here’s hoping

Love and kisses Dec
